Moscow Media Law and Policy Center (MLPC) presents the fourth of the books in the series "Journalism and Law". Titled “Defense of Honor and Dignity: Theoretical and Practical Issues” it is an aftermath of the seminar held by the Center in November, 1996. The book reflects presentation of the special report “Insult and Obscene Language in Mass Media Texts” written on the commission of the MLPC by a study group of psycho-linguists headed by Academician Aleksei Leontiev.
Appendices include an overview of defamation cases that were dealt with by the law firm "Boris Kuznetsov and Partners", excerpts from the current statutes, and other materials.
